Tempestuous as a tsunami wave
Tentative as a virgin bride
Teasingly like Christmas Eve
Anticipated more as you age
Though as resplendent in youth
It comes,
Darting, at first
A mere glimpse
Perhaps with a sudden retreat
Then fully unfolds
Though all the signs were there
The sun rising earlier each day
The warmer winds wafting our way
Buds erupting on the tree
Winter clothing, slowly being put away
Few things accompany such joy
As the warming rays
That melt the snow
Revealing winter grass beneath
The colour of pale hay
And so our hearts
Collectively dance
For yet another of our numbered Springs
As sprung.
