Tonight

And the snow falls

Silently upon the ground

Muffling every sound

Yet I hear my heart

Singing out to you

Will you hear my song

Of hunger and appreciation

Or let it fall into a drift of snow

That no one will ever see

Now the morn dawns

Rain falls over and over

In a torrent of tears

What’s holding you back

Share with me your fears

Wake with wonder as the sun arises

Warming hearts and souls previously so desolate

Arching over our horizon

Touching our very being

With rays of wonder and grand illusion

The moon you saw

The other night

You stopped to snap that picture

Of it so bright

You saw the magic on it’s light

Then you shared with me your child like delight

Cross the bridge now

Face the future

Give no more fight

Perish any thought of flight

Be with me as us

Tonight.
