Standing Here

As snow, falling fresh

You were a needed breath

One that made the sun shine

On the coldest, darkest days

A light that blinded me

To all that’s negative in the world

A journey started,

One I could easily see to the end

Though with no thought of destination

Enjoying simply the path on then

Now, standing; marking time

On our road with so much yet before us

Is knowing every twist or turn

All the bends and dips along the way

Really paramount to the voyage?

Or does it lay, in us simply finding our way

Definitely we will stumble

Even lose our way at times

Carry one the other

Over obstacles across our path

All that given, no doubt

Though also, we will laugh

As on we go

Sharing life’s awards

Big and small

Support and inspire

Be each other’s home

At end of day

Now standing here, marking time…
